About STO Union

STO Union is a production company dedicated to the creation and producing of projects that challenge what is a stage and who and what should be on it. Projects join amateurs and professionals, rural and urban, anglophone and francophone and engage all art forms to create public experiences that resonate with realness and intimacy. From theatre to movies, live art to installations, the company works with whatever art form that emerges out of the company’s rigorous research and dramaturgical process.

Since 1992, STO Union’s productions have premiered in Canada and have toured abroad. STO Union’s productions and its collaborators have won awards, including the Chalmers’ Award and Dora Award. In 2016, artistic director Nadia Ross received the Siminovitch Prize, a prize which shines a spotlight on excellence and innovation in Canadian Theatre.

Based in the Outaouais in West Quebec, the make-up and nature of the STO Union team changes over time. It is currently led by a team of people who work together on all aspects of production and creation. In 2020, the core team includes Nadia Ross (founder/artistic direction/producer) Shauna Kadyschuk (management/producer) and Rob Scott (technical direction).
