On Friday November 8 from 5 to 8 pm, all are welcome to celebrate the opening of PAF’s Xmas Art Market and Anonymous Artist Silent Auction. We will raise a glass to the buildings’ new stairs, generously funded by the Government of Canada through the Enabling Accessibility Fund, by the Municipality of La Pèche RCCL Grants, and by PAF Membership.

The Art Market and Silent Auction continue through until Sunday.  The sale features a relaxed and straight forward way to view and purchase unique and local works of art, and helps support many local artists and artisans. Favourite PAF members and special guest artists will be featured, along with a show and sale by local youth artists. The event is also a fundraiser, with 20% of funds made from the sale going to support the co-op’s plans to purchase the building it is located in, at 42 chemin Plunkett in Farrellton, Quebec.

For the months of November and December 2019 and January 2020, artists Alexa Hatanaka and Patrick Thompson will be in Residence at Place des artistes de Farrellton (PAF). Presented by Articulture, the organization is planning a series of large-scale art pieces as the foundation for La Galerie: an outdoor, all season permanent art gallery on farm land in La Pêche.  On Sunday November 10 at 3pm and 4pm, the public is invited to talk to Alexa and Patrick about their work, followed by a discussion led by ArtiCulture asking local artists how they can contribute to La Galerie in the years to come.

Local Wakefield Granny and author Ilse Turnsen will read from her newly published book ” Whisperings”. PAF artist Iris Kiewiet will showcase her sensitive, collaborative illustrations. Wakefield Troubadour Mary Lou van Schaik says of the book: “In words and images the book celebrates the wonder and wisdom between generations”.

Don’t miss one of the highlights of the Gatineau Hills experience!
