About Gavin Lynch

Drawing from a variety of sources, including his travels, current events, screen culture and digital imaging technologies, Gavin Lynch’s painting practice explores the potential of contemporary landscape painting. Lynch uses elements of text, the monochrome, abstraction and figuration to create contemplative spaces that portray our natural surroundings and question our place within them.

Gavin Lynch holds a BFA from Emily Carr University (2009) and a MFA from the University of Ottawa (2012). His work has been exhibited internationally and across Canada, and can be found in numerous collections, including the Royal Bank of Canada, TD Canada Trust, Air Canada, Nordstroms, Scotiabank and the University of Toronto.
